Do you have a favorite local paddleboard shop?

Blueline Surf & Paddle

What paddleboard, surfski or OC do you ride most?

Imagine Crossover

Do you own any other paddleboards, surfskis or OCs and what kind?

I still have my first paddle board, a 9’6″ Synergy, an 11″ YOLO Ecotrainer, 12’6″ Jimmy Lewis Stiletto, 12’6″ JP Australia and several touring/fishing kayaks from a previous kayak business I owned.

What paddle do you use?

Quickblade Flyweight 83cm

Have you changed boards/paddles/equipment since you started? If so, why?

Many times! My first board was too slow, my next board wasn’t quite right. I finally got comfortable when I got a board that was 12′ and longer because I like to paddle long distances.

If you could travel to anywhere in the world to paddle, where would you go?

Turks & Caicos to start, I’m realistic with my time.

Best piece of SUP advice you’ve ever received?

Everyone’s body is different, so what works for you may not work the same for everyone else.

Weirdest thing that’s happened to you while paddling?

Some young kids decided it would be funny to smack me on the butt while they waterskied by me during a solo paddle training session. Took the sanctity of my safe place away for a bit, but I got right back at it.

Favorite SUP nutrition? (During races/ during a long haul)

Coffee, oatmeal, bananas and coconut chocolate energy chunks

Goals for this next year?

I would love to get a few of the women I know to overcome their fear of participating in a race and just do it!

Favorite post-paddle nosh (snack/beer/recovery drink)

Sweet Water 420 beer and pizza.

Your favorite non-paddle thing to do.

Cook, read and plan the next paddle.

What piece of SUP gear do you wish someone would invent?

Can’t think of one really.

What’s your biggest challenge with SUP?

Getting all the time on the water that I please.

What is your proudest moment in a SUP race or event?

Placing 2nd in the key west classic on my imagine crossover the last couple of years 🙂

Tell us about the best friend(s) you made through paddling.

Kim DePasquale who I reached out to when Blueline first opened. I had a kayak company and they didn’t have kayaks. We’ve been best paddling buddies since. She exposed me to supyoga and I even accompanied her as her assistant at wanderlust. I push her to race, she pushes me to get out of my comfort zone. It’s been a great friendship thru paddling.

What was your best SUP travel trip?

Paddling with my husband around Cabbage Key to Captiva Island and the surrounding areas.
