Erin has been our sister from the North for years. She’s been traveling to just about everywhere there’s a big event to paddle and enjoy our paddle world. We love seeing her in Wrightsville Beach for the Carolina Cup or other events, or just Erin is paddling a OneSUP Australia Evo’14 and uses a QuickBlade Trifecta Paddle. Erin shows up and paddles out. She inspires us.
Where is your favorite place to paddle?
Lake Ontario Baby!
Plus, of course my second home, Wrightsville Beach NC
What is your favorite event and why?
I have to say Surf to Sound circa 2012! My 1st Ocean race!
The shore break ate me alive but I finished & never looked back!
What is your favorite paddling moment and why?
My FAV paddling moment was one of my 1st downwinders on Lake Ontario. We start at one city & paddle to the next. I was a rookie & a chick, the general feeling was I’d hold everyone else up. Determination, more than skill made me complete the run. That was satisfying AF but actually catching rides on these waves was pure BLISS!
Life on Lake Ontario is never dull! Mother Nature is constantly serving up new conditions.
Do you have a bucket list event?
The Gorge Downwind Championships!
I windsurfed the Gorge when I was wild & crazy & I’m interested in going back.
What are you grateful for?
I’m grateful SUP came into my life!
It’s given me a new sport & new challenges physically & mentally! I’ve met SO many people & travelled so many places because of SUP!
I’m especially grateful to have something to share with my hubby, who’s my SUP partner-in-crime!!
Advice or tips for paddlers?
