A Paddleboarding Downwinder on Saturday, 12/22/12 with a 25-30 Kt NW Wind, This is through the "Transition Zone" where the Chesapeake Bay unloads into the Atlantic. Mean while, there was a Small Craft Advisory and the Surf Zone was useless.
Basic exercises that can be practiced in flat water on a stand up paddle board. This video covers bracing and steering with the paddle. Both of these skills will come in handy on a downwind run.
Middle, and end section of my adventure, continuing down the North shore and coming across the reefs at Kanaha beach. This run is the Mecca for standup paddleboarding, and now I know why! Great fun, and one of the most exhilarating things I've done.
