United StatesFEATUREDMatt is a full-time SUP instructor, paddle coach, and instructor trainer. He loves introducing and teaching new people to the sport of stand up paddling and also working with paddlers to improve their strokes. He specializes in coaching all types of instructors so they may have a solid training and curriculum for paddling to provide a high quality product. Being from a family of teachers and long time ocean lifeguards, Matt naturally adopted the sport of SUP and started teaching when the sport made its way into Florida in 2008. Matt holds certifications from several of the well know stand up paddle educational organizations and has what he calls “cross pollinated” many of the best practices, tips & tricks, and teaching methods from many of the well known paddlers in the industry. He paddles and surfs as an Ambassador for a handful of brands including Bic Sport, but does not compete on a regular basis, as most of his time and focus is spent on teaching new paddlers and training instructors.
